The workplace is rich with diversity of chair arms.

First up, we have the classic T-Arm, which typically attached under the chair and form a t-shape with the arm rest perpendicular to the seat. These are often adjustable arms, specifically in height.

If straight lines aren't your thing, consider the Loop Arm, which are curved and form an incomplete circle. These can be fixed or adjustable. Some users prefer this look and others claim the curved design provides more arm support when in a reclined position.

Fixed Arms are exactly what they sound like – arms that are fixed in place and that can't be adjusted. They are usually found in guest seating, budget task chairs and sometimes in executive style leather chairs. Since they can't be adjusted, they tend to look more uniform when in a group and can be appropriate in meeting spaces or lounges. Be sure these fit under a table or worksurface if that is your plan. Few things are worse in life than chair arms that don't fit under then table!

And then there is the wonderful world of the Adjustable Arm, and with modern ergonomic task chairs the sky's the limit! Adjust height, width, depth, pivot, 360 rotation, you name it! Although these adjustments will cost a little more, they are often worth the investment to support different body types and workstyles while promoting wellbeing.

From aesthetic to function, use-case to floorplate placement, budget to ergonomics, knowing all of your options when it comes to selecting the right chair arm will serve you well!
